Since Game of Thrones is over, fans are already looking forward to the prequel series like never before. While George R.R. Martin’s spin-off prequel could be as late as 2020, everyone is trying to speculate a thing or two about the upcoming show.
Well, if you too are one of those looking for some hints in the original GoT series, you may get disappointed. One of the actors cast in the Game of Thrones prequel has spilt details about the show shedding some light on the new series.
Oscar-nominated actor and star of a famous fantasy series Harry Potter Miranda Richardson, who joins Naomi Watts, Jamie Campbell Bower and Josh Whitehouse in the cast, while speaking to Digital Spy, has revealed that the show was going to be as exciting as Game of Thrones, but “totally different” from anything that has been done on Game of Thrones.
Everything We Know So Far About Game of Thrones Prequel
Miranda Richardson told Digital Spy –
“I have loved the storytelling in that series Game of Thrones, and the wish and the will are to continue that, (but) with a totally different set of elements, (and) people.”
“The craftsmen are the same — there is a base team that is the same, and their work has been phenomenal throughout. I’m just thrilled to be a part of it.”
Sad enough, but yes, we won’t be able to see any of the characters from Game of Thrones series who we love, but there may be one familiar face – The Night King.
Sure, the spin-off is set to focus on the origin of the White Walkers – that we discussed in Game of Thrones May Be Over, Not the Night King’s March – which makes sense that’s going include the first-ever white in existence.
How Has HBO Described the Prequel?
“Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.”
“From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know.”
The show has been titled as “Bloodmoon” and begun filming in Belfast last month. It has been greenlit for the production, but still needs to prove a successful pilot to hit the silver screen.
The big-budget spin-off is being run by the producer Jane Goldman, writer George R.R. Martin and director SJ Clarkson.
Martin, in a May 4 blog post, wrote –
“What are they about? I cannot say. But maybe some of you should pick up a copy of FIRE & BLOOD (Martin’s companion novel to A Song of Ice and Fire) and come up with your own theories.”
